Chapter 64

Songs and prayers for every feeling.

For the worship leader. A Psalm by David. God, hear my voice when I complain. Protect my life from the fear of the enemy.

Hide me from the secret plots of wicked people, from the noisy crowd of evil-doers;

who sharpen their tongues like swords, and aim their arrows, which are deadly words,

to secretly shoot innocent people. They shoot at them suddenly and without fear.

They encourage each other in their evil plans. They talk about secretly setting traps. They say, "Who will see them?"

They plan injustice, saying, "We have made a perfect plan!" Surely people's minds and hearts are cunning.

But God will shoot at them. They will be suddenly struck down by an arrow.

Their own tongues will ruin them. Everyone who sees them will shake their heads in disbelief.

All people will be afraid. They will declare what God has done, and will carefully consider his actions.

Righteous people will be glad in Yahweh, and will find safety in him. All those with honest hearts will praise him!
