Psalms

Chapter 3

Songs and prayers for every feeling.

1A Psalm by David, when he fled from Absalom his son. Yahweh, my enemies have grown so numerous! Many are rising up against me.

2Many are saying about me, "God will not help him." Selah.

3But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me; you are my glory and the one who lifts my head.

4I cry aloud to Yahweh, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah.

5I lay down and slept; I woke up, for Yahweh supports me.

6I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have taken positions against me on every side.

7Get up, Yahweh! Save me, my God! You have struck all my enemies on the cheek and broken the teeth of the wicked.

8Salvation comes from Yahweh. May your blessing be on your people. Selah.
