A Psalm by David. Hear my prayer, Yahweh. Listen to my pleas. In your faithfulness and righteousness, relieve my distress.
Don’t bring your servant to judgment, because no one alive is righteous in your eyes.
For my enemy persecutes me. He has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me live in darkness, like those who have been dead for a long time.
Therefore, my spirit is overwhelmed with despair. My heart within me is devastated.
I remember the days of old. I think about everything you have done. I consider the work of your hands.
I stretch out my hands to you. My soul is thirsty for you, like a dry land. Selah.
Hurry to answer me, Yahweh. My spirit is failing. Don’t hide your face from me, or I will become like those who go down into the grave.
Let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for I lift my soul to you.
Deliver me, Yahweh, from my enemies. I run to you for protection.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me on level ground.
Restore me, Yahweh, for the sake of your name. In your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.
Because of your faithful love, destroy my enemies and all those who trouble me, for I am your servant.
