“‘This is the rule for the trespass offering. It is extremely holy.
The trespass offering must be killed in the same place where the burnt offering is killed. Its blood must be sprinkled around on all sides of the altar.
The priest must offer all of its fat: the fat tail, and the fat that covers the internal organs,
both kidneys, and the fat on them near the loins, and the fatty lobe of the liver, which he must remove with the kidneys.
The priest must burn these on the altar as a food offering to Yahweh. It is a trespass offering.
Every male among the priests may eat from it. It must be eaten in a holy place. It is extremely holy.
“‘The sin offering and the trespass offering are the same; there is one rule for both. The priest who uses them to make a payment for sin will get to keep it.
The priest who offers any person’s burnt offering will get to keep the hide of the burnt offering he has offered for himself.
Every grain offering baked in an oven, and everything prepared in a pan or on a griddle, belongs to the priest who offers it.
Every grain offering, whether mixed with oil or dry, belongs to all of Aaron’s sons equally.
“‘This is the rule for the sacrifice of peace offerings that someone presents to Yahweh.
If he offers it as a thank offering, he must also bring unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers brushed with oil, and cakes mixed with oil along with the thank offering.
Along with his thanksgiving sacrifice, he must offer cakes made with yeast.
He must present one of every offering as a special gift to Yahweh. It will belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings.
The meat from his thanksgiving peace offering must be eaten on the day he offers it. He must not leave any of it until morning.
“However, if the sacrifice he offers is to fulfill a vow or is a freewill offering, it may be eaten on the day he offers his sacrifice, and whatever is left over may be eaten the next day.
But any meat from the sacrifice that is still left on the third day must be burned up completely.
If any of the meat from the peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted or credited to the person who offered it. It will be detestable, and anyone who eats it will be held responsible for their sin.
“Meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned up completely. As for the other meat, anyone who is clean may eat it.
But if someone who is unclean eats meat from the peace offerings that belong to Yahweh, that person will be cut off from their people.
If anyone touches anything unclean—whether it’s human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any detestable, unclean thing—and then eats some of the meat from Yahweh’s peace offerings, that person will be cut off from their people.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Tell the people of Israel: You must not eat any fat from a bull, sheep, or goat.
The fat from an animal that dies naturally or is killed by other animals may be used for other purposes, but you must never eat it.
For anyone who eats the fat from an animal from which an offering is made by fire to Yahweh will be cut off from their people.
You must not eat any blood, whether from birds or animals, in any of your homes.
Anyone who eats any blood will be cut off from their people.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Tell the people of Israel: Whoever brings a peace offering to Yahweh must bring part of that offering as their personal gift to Yahweh.
They must bring with their own hands the portion to be presented by fire to Yahweh. They must bring the fat along with the breast, so that the breast can be waved as a special offering before Yahweh.
The priest will burn the fat on the altar, but the breast will belong to Aaron and his sons.
From the sacrifices of your peace offerings, you must give the right thigh to the priest as a special offering.
The priest from Aaron's family who offers the blood and fat from the peace offerings will receive the right thigh as his portion.
For I have taken the waved breast and the lifted thigh from the Israelites' peace offering sacrifices and given them to Aaron the priest and his sons as their permanent share from the Israelites.'
This is the special portion for Aaron and his sons, from the offerings made to Yahweh by fire, given on the day he officially presented them to serve Yahweh as priests.
Yahweh commanded that these portions be given to them by the Israelites on the day he appointed them. This is their permanent share for all future generations.
This is the instruction for the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offering, and the peace offering sacrifices.
Yahweh gave these commands to Moses on Mount Sinai, on the day he told the Israelites to present their offerings to Yahweh in the wilderness of Sinai.
