"Bezalel and Oholiab, along with every skilled person whom Yahweh has given wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary, must do everything Yahweh has commanded."
Moses called Bezalel, Oholiab, and every skilled person whom Yahweh had given wisdom, everyone whose heart moved them to come and do the work.
They received from Moses all the contributions the people of Israel had brought for the work of making the sanctuary. The people continued to bring him freewill offerings every morning.
Then all the skilled workers who were performing all the work for the sanctuary each left their work and came.
They told Moses, "The people are bringing much more than is needed for the work Yahweh commanded us to do."
Moses then gave an order, and it was announced throughout the camp: "No man or woman should make any more offerings for the sanctuary." So the people stopped bringing contributions.
Because the materials they already had were more than enough for all the work that needed to be done, they had an excess.
All the skilled craftsmen among those doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains. They made them from fine twisted linen, woven with blue, purple, and scarlet threads, and embroidered with cherubim by a skillful artisan.
Each curtain was twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide; all the curtains were the same size.
He joined five of the curtains together, and the other five curtains he joined together separately.
He made loops of blue material along the edge of one curtain in the first set, and he did the same along the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.
He made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the second set; these loops were directly opposite each other.
He made fifty gold clasps and used them to connect the curtains, so the tabernacle became one complete unit.
He then made curtains of goat hair to serve as a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven of these curtains.
Each of these curtains was thirty cubits long and four cubits wide; all eleven curtains were the same size.
He joined five of these curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves.
He made fifty loops along the edge of the outermost curtain of one set, and he made fifty loops along the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set.
He made fifty bronze clasps to connect the tent together, so it became one unit.
He made a covering for the tent using rams' skins dyed red, and over that, a covering of sea cow hides.
He made the frames for the tabernacle out of acacia wood, standing upright.
Each frame was ten cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.
Each frame had two projections for joining, fitted one to another. He made all the frames for the tabernacle this way.
For the tabernacle, he made twenty frames for the south side.
He made forty silver bases to go under the twenty frames—two bases under each frame for its two projections.
For the second side of the Tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards.
He made forty silver bases for them, two bases under each board.
For the far western side of the Tabernacle, he made six boards.
He made two boards for the corners of the Tabernacle on the far western side.
The corner boards were joined at the bottom and all the way up to a single ring at the top. He did this for both boards in the two corners.
There were eight boards in total, with sixteen silver bases; two bases under each board.
He made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the Tabernacle,
five bars for the boards on the other side of the Tabernacle, and five bars for the boards on the western end of the Tabernacle.
He made the middle bar pass through the middle of the boards from one end to the other.
He covered the boards with gold, and made gold rings for the bars to fit into, and also covered the bars with gold.
He made the curtain from blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, with cherubim skillfully embroidered on it.
He made four acacia wood pillars for it and covered them with gold. Their hooks were gold, and he cast four silver bases for them.
He made a screen for the entrance to the tent, using blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen, embroidered by a skilled craftsman.
He made five pillars for it with their hooks. He covered their tops and their bands with gold, and their five bases were made of bronze.
