Zechariah

Chapter 2

Visions of restoration.

I looked up again and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Then I asked, 'Where are you going?' He said to me, 'To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is.'

Just then, the angel who was speaking with me left, and another angel came out to meet him.

He said to him, 'Run and tell this young man: Jerusalem will be a city without walls, because of the great number of people and animals in it.

For I myself,' says Yahweh, 'will be a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory within it.'

'Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,' says Yahweh, 'for I have scattered you like the four winds of the sky,' says Yahweh.

‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who live in Babylon.’

For Yahweh of Armies says: ‘After gaining glory, he has sent me to the nations who robbed you; for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.

Indeed, I will wave my hand over them, and they will become spoils for those who once served them; then you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me.

Sing and rejoice, people of Zion; for I am coming, and I will live among you,’ says Yahweh.

Many nations will join themselves to Yahweh on that day and will become my people; and I will live among you, and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

Yahweh will claim Judah as his inheritance in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.

Be silent, everyone, before Yahweh; for he has prepared himself from his holy dwelling!”
