1Yahweh rules! Let the earth celebrate! Let the many islands be glad!
2Clouds and darkness surround him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3A fire goes before him and burns up his enemies on every side.
4His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees it and trembles.
5The mountains melt like wax in the presence of Yahweh, in the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6The heavens announce his righteousness. All the peoples have seen his glory.
7Let all who serve carved images be ashamed, those who brag about their idols. Worship him, all you gods!
8Zion heard and was glad. The towns of Judah rejoiced because of your judgments, Yahweh.
9Because you, Yahweh, are supreme over all the earth. You are far above all gods.
10You who love Yahweh, hate evil. He protects the lives of his faithful people. He rescues them from the power of the wicked.
11Light shines for the righteous, and joy for those who are honest.
12Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous people! Give thanks to his holy Name.
