A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to thank Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High;
to announce your faithful love in the morning and your loyalty every night,
with the ten-stringed instrument, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
Because you, Yahweh, have made me happy through what you have done. I will celebrate the work of your hands.
How great are your works, Yahweh! Your thoughts are very deep.
A foolish person doesn’t know, and an ignorant person doesn’t understand this:
even though wicked people sprout like grass and all evildoers thrive, they will be destroyed forever.
But you, Yahweh, are supreme forever.
Look! Your enemies, Yahweh, look! Your enemies will die. All evildoers will be scattered.
But you have given me strength like a wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
My eyes have seen my enemies. My ears have heard about the wicked enemies who attack me.
Good people will thrive like palm trees and grow tall like cedars in Lebanon.
They are planted in Yahweh’s house. They will flourish in the courts of our God.
Even when they are old, they will still produce fruit; they will be full of life and green,
to show that Yahweh is fair. He is my rock, and there is no unfairness in him.
