For the director of music. To be played on a stringed instrument from Gath. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. How lovely are your dwelling places, Yahweh of Armies!
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of Yahweh. My heart and my body cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself where she can raise her young, near your altars, Yahweh of Armies, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who live in your house; they are always praising you. Selah.
Blessed are those whose strength comes from you, who are determined to make the pilgrimage.
As they pass through the valley of Weeping, they turn it into a place of springs; the autumn rains cover it with blessings.
They grow stronger as they go. Each of them appears before God in Zion.
Yahweh, God of Armies, hear my prayer. Listen, God of Jacob. Selah.
Look, God our protector, and favor your chosen one.
For one day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of the wicked.
For Yahweh God is a sun and a shield. Yahweh will give grace and glory. He does not hold back any good thing from those who live blamelessly.
Commander of Angel Armies, blessed are those who trust in you.
