Chapter 8

Songs and prayers for every feeling.

For the Chief Musician; on an instrument of Gath. A Psalm by David. Yahweh, our Lord, how wonderful is your name throughout the whole earth, you who have placed your glory above the heavens!

Because of your enemies, you have built a strong defense from the mouths of babies and infants, to silence the enemy and the one who seeks revenge.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—

what are human beings that you think of them, or the Son of Man that you care for him?

You made them a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over everything you have made and put all things under their control:

all sheep and cattle, yes, and the wild animals,

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.

Yahweh, our Lord, your name is great and powerful everywhere on earth!
