Chapter 66

Songs and prayers for every feeling.

For the worship leader. A song. A Psalm. Shout for joy to God, all the earth!

Sing to the glory of his name! Give him glory and praise!

Say to God, “Your deeds are awesome! Because of your great power, your enemies pretend to obey you.”

All the earth will worship you and sing to you; they will sing to your name. Selah.

Come and see what God has done—his awesome work for all people.

He turned the sea into dry land. They walked through the river on foot. There, we rejoiced in him.

He rules by his might forever. His eyes watch the nations. Don’t let the rebellious rise up against him. Selah.

Praise our God, you peoples! Let the sound of his praise be heard!

He keeps us among the living and doesn’t let our feet slip.

For you, God, have tested us. You have refined us, just as silver is refined.

You led us into a trap. You put a heavy burden on our backs.

You let people walk all over us. We went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of plenty.

I will come into your temple with burnt offerings. I will keep the promises I made to you,

promises I spoke with my lips and my mouth when I was in trouble.

I will offer you burnt offerings of healthy animals, with rams; I will offer bulls with goats.

Come and listen, all you who respect God. I will tell you what he has done for me.

I cried out to him with my mouth. I praised him with my tongue.

If I had allowed sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

But God has truly listened. He has heard my prayer.

Praise God, because he has not ignored my prayer or withheld his faithful love from me.
