Chapter 34

Songs and prayers for every feeling.

By David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who then sent him away. I will praise Yahweh at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.

I will boast about Yahweh; humble people will hear and be glad.

Come, let us praise Yahweh together; let us honor his name together.

I looked to Yahweh, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears.

Those who look to him will shine with joy; they will never be ashamed.

This poor man cried out, and Yahweh heard him; he saved him from all his troubles.

Yahweh's angel surrounds those who respect him and rescues them.

Taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.

Respect Yahweh, all you who are his devoted followers, for those who respect him have everything they need.

Even young lions can be weak and hungry, but those who seek Yahweh will not lack any good thing.

Come, children, listen to me. I will teach you to respect Yahweh.

Who wants to live a long and good life?

Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from telling lies.

Turn away from evil and do good. Seek peace and go after it.

Yahweh watches over good people. He listens to their cries.

Yahweh turns against those who do evil, to erase their memory from the earth.

When good people cry out, Yahweh hears and rescues them from all their troubles.

Yahweh is close to those who have a broken heart, and saves those whose spirits are crushed.

Good people suffer many difficulties, but Yahweh rescues them from all of them.

He protects all their bones. Not one of them is broken.

Evil will kill the wicked. Those who hate good people will be found guilty.

Yahweh saves the lives of his servants. None of those who trust in him will be found guilty.
