A Psalm by David. Yahweh, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.
Let my prayer be like incense offered to you; let the lifting of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
Yahweh, put a guard on my mouth. Keep watch over my lips.
Do not let my heart be drawn to anything evil, to do wicked things with those who do wrong. Do not let me share in their feasts.
If a righteous person hits me, it is a kindness; if he corrects me, it is like oil on my head; I will not refuse it; yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.
Their leaders are thrown down by the sides of the cliff. They will hear my words, for they are pleasant.
“As when someone plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered at the mouth of the grave.”
Because my eyes are on you, Yahweh, the Lord. In you, I find safety. Do not leave me helpless.
Keep me from the trap they have set for me, from the snares of those who do wrong.
Let the Wicked fall into their own traps, while I walk by unharmed.
