1A Song of Ascents. I lift my eyes to you, who sit in heaven.
2Look, just as servants watch their master’s hand, and a maid watches her mistress’s hand, so our eyes look to Yahweh, our God, until he shows us mercy.
3Have mercy on us, Yahweh, have mercy on us, for we have suffered much scorn.
4We are completely fed up with the ridicule of those who are comfortable, and the contempt of the proud.
