Thank Yahweh! Call on his name! Tell all the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing his praises! Talk about all his amazing works.
Rejoice in his holy name. Let the hearts of those who seek Yahweh be glad.
Look to Yahweh and his strength. Seek his presence always.
Remember the amazing things he has done; his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.
You are the descendants of Abraham, his servant, the children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
He is Yahweh, our God. His judgments are seen throughout the whole earth.
He has remembered his agreement forever, the promise he made for a thousand generations,
the agreement he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,
and confirmed it to Jacob as a law, to Israel as an everlasting agreement.
He said, “I will give the land of Canaan to you, the portion you will inherit.”
This was when they were only a few in number, very few, and strangers in the land.
They traveled from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people.
He allowed no one to harm them. In fact, he warned kings because of them,
saying, “Don’t touch my chosen people! Don’t hurt my prophets!”
He caused a famine in the land, destroying all the food supplies.
He sent a man ahead of them; Joseph was sold as a slave.
They put his feet in chains, and his neck was bound with irons,
until the time his prediction came true, and Yahweh’s word proved him right.
The king sent for him and set him free; the ruler of peoples released him.
He made him master of his household and ruler over all his possessions,
to instruct his officials as he wished and to teach his elders wisdom.
Israel also came into Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.
God made his people grow greatly, making them stronger than their enemies.
He made them hate his people and plot against his servants.
He sent his servant Moses and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They performed miraculous signs among them and wonders in the land of Ham (Egypt).
He sent darkness and made it dark. They (Moses and Aaron) did not resist his commands.
He turned their water into blood and killed their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the bedrooms of their kings.
He spoke, and swarms of flies came, and gnats throughout all their territory.
He gave them hail instead of rain, with lightning throughout their land.
He struck down their grapevines and their fig trees, and shattered the trees in their country.
He spoke, and locusts came, and grasshoppers too numerous to count,
which ate every plant in their land and every fruit of their ground.
He also killed all the firstborn in their land, the first children of all their men.
He led his people out with silver and gold, and no one among his tribes was weak.
Egypt was glad when they left, because the people of Egypt were afraid of them.
He spread a cloud for a covering and fire to give light at night.
They asked, and he brought quail and satisfied them with bread from heaven.
He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the dry places.
For he remembered his holy promise and his servant Abraham.
He led his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
He gave them the lands of the nations; they took possession of what other people had worked for,
so that they would obey his rules and follow his laws. Praise Yah!
