On the eighth day, Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel.
He told Aaron, “Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and an unblemished ram for a burnt offering, and present them before Yahweh.
Then tell the Israelites, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both one year old and without blemish, for a burnt offering;
and a bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh; and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today Yahweh will appear to you.’ ”
They brought what Moses commanded in front of the Tent of Meeting, and the whole community came and stood before Yahweh.
Moses said, “This is what Yahweh has commanded you to do, and Yahweh’s glory will appear to you.”
Moses told Aaron, “Approach the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering to make atonement for yourself and for the people. Then offer the people’s offering and make atonement for them, as Yahweh commanded.”
So Aaron approached the altar and killed the calf for the sin offering that was for himself.
Aaron’s sons brought the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
But he burned the fat, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe of the liver from the sin offering on the altar, just as Yahweh commanded Moses.
He burned the meat and the hide outside the camp.
He killed the animal for the burnt offering. Aaron's sons gave him the blood, and he sprinkled it all around the altar.
They handed him the burnt offering, piece by piece, including the head. He then burned them on the altar.
He washed the internal organs and legs, and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar.
He brought the people's offering, took the goat for the sin offering that was for the people, killed it, and offered it to make up for sin, just as he did with the first one.
He presented the burnt offering and offered it exactly as commanded.
He presented the grain offering, took a handful from it, and burned it on the altar, in addition to the morning's burnt offering.
He also killed the bull and the ram for the fellowship offering, which was for the people. Aaron’s sons gave him the blood, which he sprinkled all around on the altar.
Then they presented the fat from the bull and the ram: the fat tail, the fat covering the internal organs, the kidneys, and the best part of the liver.
They placed the fat on the breasts, and Aaron burned the fat on the altar.
Aaron presented the breasts and the right thigh as a special offering before Yahweh, just as Moses had commanded.
Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. Then he came down after offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.
Moses and Aaron went into the Meeting Tent, then came out and blessed the people. And Yahweh’s glory appeared to all the people.
Fire came out from Yahweh and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
