Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Command the Israelites to bring you pure olive oil, pressed from olives, for the light, so that the lamp can burn continuously.
Aaron must keep the lamp in order from evening until morning continually before Yahweh, outside the curtain of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting. This is a law forever for all your future generations.
The priest must always keep the lamps on the pure gold lamp stand burning before Yahweh.
“You are to take fine flour and bake twelve cakes; each cake should use four pounds of flour.
Arrange these cakes in two rows, six cakes in each row, on the pure gold table before Yahweh.
You must put pure frankincense on each row of cakes. This frankincense will serve as a memorial for the bread, an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
Every Sabbath day, the priest must arrange it before Yahweh continually. This is an everlasting agreement for the people of Israel.
This bread will be for Aaron and his sons. They must eat it in a holy place, because it is most holy to them from the offerings made by fire to Yahweh, according to a lasting rule.”
The son of an Israelite woman and an Egyptian father went out among the people of Israel. This son of the Israelite woman and an Israelite man got into a fight in the camp.
The son of the Israelite woman spoke disrespectfully of God’s Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, from the tribe of Dan.
They put him in custody until Yahweh’s decision could be made known to them.
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Take the man who cursed outside the camp. Have everyone who heard him place their hands on his head, and then have the entire community stone him to death.
Tell the people of Israel, ‘Whoever curses his God will be held responsible for his sin.
Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of Yahweh’s name must be put to death. The entire community must stone him. This applies to foreigners and native-born people alike; when they speak disrespectfully of God’s Name, they must be put to death.
“‘Anyone who causes the death of another person must surely be put to death.
Anyone who causes the death of an animal must replace it, life for life.
If anyone injures his neighbor, he will be treated the same way he treated the other person:
a broken bone for a broken bone, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. The injury he inflicted will be inflicted on him.
Anyone who kills an animal must replace it; and anyone who kills a person must be put to death.
You must have the same law for foreigners and native-born people, because I am Yahweh your God.’”
Moses spoke to the people of Israel. They took the man who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. The people of Israel did exactly as Yahweh commanded Moses.
