Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Tell Aaron and his sons to keep away from the holy things that the people of Israel set apart for me. They must not treat my holy name as common. I am Yahweh.
“Tell them, ‘If any of your descendants, for all generations, approaches the holy things that the people of Israel set apart for Yahweh while he is unclean, that person will be cut off from my presence. I am Yahweh.
“‘If any of Aaron’s descendants has a skin disease or a discharge, he must not eat from the holy things until he is clean. Anyone who touches something made unclean by a dead body, or a man who has an emission of semen,
or anyone who touches any crawling creature that can make him unclean, or any person who can make him unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be,
the person who touches any of these will be unclean until evening and must not eat from the holy things unless he washes his body with water.
After the sun has set, he will be clean; then he may eat from the holy things, because it is his food.
He must not eat anything that died naturally or was torn by wild animals, because that would make him unclean. I am Yahweh.
“‘They must obey my commands, otherwise they will bear sin and die for profaning the holy things. I am Yahweh, who makes them holy.
“‘No outsider may eat of the holy thing: no foreigner living with the priests, and no hired servant, may eat of the holy thing.
But if a priest buys a slave with his money, that slave may eat of it; and those born in his house may eat of his food.
If a priest’s daughter marries someone outside the priestly family, she must not eat from the holy offerings.
But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, and has no children, and returns to her father’s house as she did in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider may eat any of it.
“‘If someone accidentally eats something holy, he must add one-fifth to its value and give the holy thing to the priest.
The priests must not treat as common the holy things that the people of Israel offer to Yahweh,
and so cause them to bear the guilt of sin when they eat their holy things; for I am Yahweh who makes them holy.’”,
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
“Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the people of Israel and tell them: ‘If anyone from the house of Israel or any foreigner living in Israel brings an offering, whether it is for a vow or a freewill offering, which they offer to Yahweh as a burnt offering,
to be accepted, you must offer a male animal without any defects, from the cattle, sheep, or goats.
But you must not offer anything that has a defect; because it will not be accepted on your behalf.
If someone offers a peace offering to Yahweh to fulfill a promise or as a freewill offering, whether from cattle or sheep, the animal must be perfect to be accepted. It must not have any flaws.
You must not offer animals that are blind, injured, crippled, have warts, festering sores, or running sores to Yahweh. You must not burn them as an offering on the altar to Yahweh.
You may offer a bull or a lamb that has a deformity or is missing parts as a freewill offering, but it will not be accepted for a vow.
You must not offer to Yahweh any animal that has its testicles bruised, crushed, broken, or cut. You must not do this in your land.
You must not accept an offering for your God from a foreigner if the animal has any of these defects, because the defects make them impure. They will not be accepted on your behalf.'
Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
"When a bull, sheep, or goat is born, it must stay with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be accepted as an offering burned to Yahweh.
You must not kill a cow or a ewe and its young on the same day.
When you make a thanksgiving offering to Yahweh, you must offer it in a way that makes it acceptable.
It must be eaten on the same day; do not leave any of it until morning. I am Yahweh.
Therefore, you must obey and carry out my commands. I am Yahweh.
You must not dishonor my holy name, but I will be treated as holy among the people of Israel. I am Yahweh who makes you holy,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am Yahweh."
