Job again began to speak, and said,
“As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter
My life is still in me, and the spirit of God gives me breath.
So my lips will not speak injustice, and my tongue will not say misleading things.
It's unthinkable that I would say you are right. Until I die, I will not let go of my integrity.
I hold firmly to my righteousness and will not give it up. My conscience will not trouble me as long as I live.
May my enemies be like the wicked; may those who rise against me be like the unrighteous.
What hope does a godless person have when God cuts them off and takes away their life?
Will God listen to their cry when trouble comes upon them?
Will they find joy in the Almighty and call on God at all times?
I will teach you about God’s power. I will not hide what I know about the Almighty.
Look, all of you have seen this yourselves; so why do you have such useless thoughts?
This is what a wicked person gets from God; this is the inheritance oppressors receive from the Almighty.
If they have many children, they will be killed by the sword. Their offspring will not have enough to eat.
Those of their family who survive will be buried by death, and their widows will not mourn.
Even if they pile up silver like dust and prepare clothes like clay,
they may prepare it, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.
They build their house like a moth's cocoon, like a temporary shelter a watchman makes.
They go to bed rich, but they won't do so again. They open their eyes, and they are gone.
Terrifying events overwhelm them like floods. A storm snatches them away in the night.
The east wind carries them off, and they vanish. It sweeps them away from their home.
For the storm strikes them relentlessly as they try to escape its power.
People will clap their hands at him and boo him out of his place.
