When you share the land by drawing lots for your inheritance, you must set aside a holy portion of the land as an offering to Yahweh. It will be twenty-five thousand reeds long and ten thousand wide. This entire area will be holy.
Within this holy portion, there will be a five-hundred-by-five-hundred square for the holy place, with an additional fifty cubits on all sides for its open spaces.
From this measure, you must measure a length of twenty-five thousand and a width of ten thousand. This area will contain the sanctuary, which is most holy.
This is a holy part of the land. It will belong to the priests, who serve in the sanctuary and come near to minister to Yahweh. It will also be a place for their houses and a holy area for the sanctuary.
The Levites, who serve in the temple, will receive a possession of twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in width for themselves, for twenty rooms.
You must set aside a city property five thousand wide and twenty-five thousand long, next to the holy portion of land. This will be for all the people of Israel.
The prince's portion will be on both sides of the holy offering and the city property, in front of the holy offering and the city property. It will extend from the western border to the eastern border, matching the length of one of these portions.
This land will be his possession in Israel. My princes will no longer oppress my people; instead, they will give the land to the people of Israel according to their tribes.
This is what the Lord Yahweh says: 'Enough, you princes of Israel! Stop your violence and stealing. Do what is right and just. Stop taking advantage of my people,' says the Lord Yahweh.
You must use honest scales, an honest ephah (a dry measure), and an honest bath (a liquid measure).
The ephah and the bath must be the same size. The bath will be one-tenth of a homer, and the ephah will also be one-tenth of a homer. Their size will be based on the homer.
The shekel will be twenty gerahs. Your mina will be twenty shekels plus twenty-five shekels plus fifteen shekels.
This is the offering you must give: one-sixth of an ephah from a homer of wheat, and one-sixth of an ephah from a homer of barley.
For the set portion of oil, from a bath of oil, it will be one-tenth of a bath from a cor, which is ten baths, or one homer (because ten baths make one homer).
You must also offer one lamb from every two hundred from the well-watered pastures of Israel. This is for the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for them, says the Lord Yahweh.
All the people of the land must contribute to this offering for the prince in Israel.
It will be the prince's duty to provide the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the drink offerings for the festivals, New Moons, Sabbaths, and all the appointed feasts of the people of Israel. He must prepare the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings to make atonement for the people of Israel.
This is what the Lord Yahweh says: 'On the first day of the first month, you must take a young bull without any defects and cleanse the sanctuary.'
The priest will take some of the blood from the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, on the four corners of the altar's ledge, and on the gateposts of the inner courtyard.
You must do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who makes a mistake or sins unintentionally. In this way, you will make atonement for the people.
On the fourteenth day of the first month, you will celebrate the Passover, a seven-day festival where only unleavened bread is eaten.
On that day, the prince must prepare a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land.
During the seven days of the festival, he must prepare a burnt offering to Yahweh each day: seven bulls and seven flawless rams, along with a male goat each day for a sin offering.
He must also prepare a grain offering: one ephah for each bull and one ephah for each ram, along with a hin of oil for each ephah.
In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, during the festival, he must do the same for seven days, following the regulations for the sin offering, the burnt offering, the grain offering, and the oil.
