Since we have been made right with God by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through him we have also gained access by faith to this grace in which we now stand. And we celebrate with confidence because of our hope in God's glory.
What’s more, we also celebrate in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces endurance.
and endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
And this hope will not lead to disappointment, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
For while we were still weak, at the right time, Christ died for ungodly people.
It is rare for anyone to die for a righteous person, though someone might possibly dare to die for a good person.
But God shows his love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Therefore, since we have now been made right with God by his blood, we will be saved from God’s anger through him.
For if, while we were enemies, we were brought back to God through the death of his Son, then, even more, since we are reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
Not only that, but we also celebrate God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
So then, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned—
For before the law, sin was in the world, but sin is not counted when there is no law.
Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the same way Adam did by disobeying a direct command. Adam was a picture of the one who was to come.
But the gift of grace is not like the trespass. For if many people died because of the trespass of one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to many people!
Nor is the gift like the result of the one man’s sin. The judgment that followed one sin led to condemnation, but the gift that followed many trespasses led to justification.
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
So then, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.
The law was introduced so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
