Chapter 16

The gospel explained from top to bottom.

I ask you to welcome our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchreae.

Receive her in the Lord as is proper for God's people, and help her with anything she needs, because she herself has been a great help to many people, including me.

Give my greetings to Prisca and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus.

They risked their lives for me. I am not the only one who is grateful to them; all the Gentile churches are thankful as well.

Also greet the church that meets in their house. Greet my dear friend Epaenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in Asia.

Greet Mary, who worked very hard for us.

Greet Andronicus and Junia, my relatives and fellow prisoners. They are well-known among the apostles and became followers of Christ before I did.

Greet Amplias, my dear friend in the Lord.

Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys.

Greet Apelles, who has proven himself in Christ. Also greet those who belong to Aristobulus's household.

Greet Herodion, my relative. Also greet those in Narcissus's household who belong to the Lord.

Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who work hard for the Lord. And greet Persis, our dear friend, who has worked very hard for the Lord.

Greet Rufus, who the Lord has chosen, and greet his mother—who is also like a mother to me.

Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters who are with them.

Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all of God's people who are with them.

Greet each other with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send their greetings to you.

Now I ask you, brothers and sisters, be careful of those who cause disagreements and put obstacles in your way, going against the teaching you have learned. Stay away from them.

For these kinds of people are not serving our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own desires. With their smooth talk and flattery, they deceive the hearts of innocent people.

Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am very happy about you. I want you to be wise about what is good, but innocent about what is evil.

And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Timothy, my co-worker, sends his greetings, as do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my relatives.

I, Tertius, who am writing this letter, send my greetings to you in the Lord.

Gaius, my host and host to the whole church, sends his greetings. Erastus, the city's treasurer, greets you, and so does our brother Quartus.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you! Amen.
