Then I looked and saw the Lamb standing on Mount Zion. With him were one hundred forty-four thousand people who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.
I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The sound I heard was like harpists playing their harps.
They sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand who had been bought back from the earth.
These are the ones who have kept themselves pure and have not been defiled with women; they are virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were bought back by Jesus from among humanity as the first offerings to God and to the Lamb.
No lies were found in their mouths; they are blameless.
Then I saw an angel flying high in the sky, and he had an eternal message of good news to announce to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
He said in a loud voice, "Respect the Lord and give him glory, because the time for his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water!"
A second angel followed, saying, "Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen! She made all the nations drink the wine of her passionate sexual immorality's anger."
A third angel followed them, saying in a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and its idol, and receives a mark on their forehead or on their hand,
They will also drink the wine of God’s anger, which has been poured out undiluted into the cup of His wrath. They will be tortured with fire and sulfur in front of the holy angels and the Lamb.
The smoke from their torture goes up forever and ever. They have no rest, day or night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
Here is where the saints show their endurance, those who obey God’s commands and remain faithful to Jesus.”
Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their hard work, for their deeds will follow them.”
I looked, and there was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like a son of man. He had a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.
Then another angel came out of the temple, calling in a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud, “Use your sickle and harvest, because the time to harvest has come, for the earth’s harvest is ripe!”
The one sitting on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.
Then another angel, who had authority over fire, came from the altar. He called out with a loud voice to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Use your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are fully ripe!”
The angel swung his sickle to the earth, and harvested the earth's crop of grapes, throwing them into the great winepress of God's wrath.
The winepress was stomped outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress as high as a horse’s bridle for about two hundred miles.
