For the music director. A Psalm by David. A song. Let God rise up! Let his enemies be scattered! Let those who hate him run away from him.
Just as smoke is blown away, blow them away. As wax melts before a fire, let the wicked die when God is present.
But let the righteous be happy. Let them celebrate in God's presence. Yes, let them celebrate with joy.
Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Praise him who rides on the clouds – his name is Yah! Celebrate in his presence!
God in his holy home is a father to the fatherless and a protector of widows.
God places lonely people in families. He leads prisoners out with singing, but rebellious people live in a dry, barren land.
God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Think about that.
The earth shook. The sky also poured down rain when the God of Sinai was present—when God, the God of Israel, was present.
God, you sent abundant rain. You restored your tired and worn-out land.
Your people lived there. God, in your goodness, you provided for the poor.
The Lord announced his message. A great number of people proclaimed it.
“Kings of armies are running away! They are running away!” The woman who stays home divides the treasures.
While you rest among the campfires, the wings of a dove are covered with silver, and her feathers with shining gold.
When the Almighty scattered kings there, it snowed on Mount Zalmon.
The mountains of Bashan are grand mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged mountains.
Why do you look with envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God chooses to live? Yes, Yahweh will live there forever.
God's chariots are tens of thousands, indeed, thousands upon thousands. The Lord is among them, coming from Sinai, into his holy place.
You went up to the heights. You led captives away. You received gifts from people, even from rebellious people, so that Yah God might live there.
Praised be the Lord, who daily carries our burdens, the God who is our salvation. Think about that.
God is a God who delivers us. Yahweh, the Lord, provides escape from death.
But God will strike the heads of his enemies, the hairy scalp of anyone who continues in their sin.
The Lord said, “I will bring you back from Bashan, I will bring you back from the depths of the sea;
So that you may crush them, dipping your feet in blood, and your dogs may feast on your enemies.”
They have seen your processions, God, even the processions of my God, my King, entering the sanctuary.
The singers led the way, followed by the musicians, with young women playing tambourines.
"Praise God in the congregations, praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel!"
There is little Benjamin, their ruler, the princes of Judah with their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
Your God has commanded you to be strong. God, make stronger what you have done for us.
Because of your temple in Jerusalem, kings will bring gifts to you.
Rebuke the wild animal in the reeds, the herds of bulls with the calves of the nations. May it be humbled and bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations that enjoy war.
Princes will come out of Egypt. Ethiopia will quickly stretch out her hands to God.
Sing to God, all you kingdoms of the earth! Sing praises to the Lord! Selah.
To him who rides across the ancient heavens; listen, he speaks with a mighty voice.
Acknowledge God's strength! His majesty is over Israel, and his strength is in the skies.
God, you are awesome in your holy places. The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God!
