For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of Yahweh. In my heart, I understand the sin of the wicked: “They have no fear of God before their eyes.”
Because they flatter themselves too much to see and hate their own sin.
The words they speak are evil and dishonest. They have stopped being wise and doing good.
They plan evil while in bed. They choose a path that is not good. They don't hate what is evil.
Your faithful love, Yahweh, reaches to the heavens. Your faithfulness extends to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains. Your judgments are like a vast deep ocean. Yahweh, you protect both people and animals.
How precious is your faithful love, God! People find protection under the shadow of your wings.
They will be completely satisfied with the rich blessings of your house. You will let them drink from your river of delights.
Because you are the source of life. In your light, we see light.
Oh, continue your faithful love to those who know you, and your righteousness to those with honest hearts.
Don’t let the foot of pride attack me. Don’t let the hand of the wicked drive me away.
There, evil-doers have fallen. They are thrown down and will not be able to get up.
