Yahweh says to his chosen one, Cyrus, whose right hand I have held to conquer nations before him and strip kings of their armor; to open doors ahead of him, so that gates will not be shut:
"I will go before you and make the rough roads smooth. I will shatter the bronze doors and cut through the iron bars.
I will give you treasures hidden in darkness and riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am Yahweh, who calls you by your name, the God of Israel.
For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen one, I have called you by your name. I have given you a title, even though you don't know me.
I am Yahweh, and there is no one else. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, even though you have not known me;
so that people from where the sun rises to where it sets will know that there is no one besides me. I am Yahweh, and there is no one else.
I form the light and create darkness. I bring peace and create disaster. I am Yahweh, who does all these things.
Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up, so that salvation may grow, and let it cause righteousness to spring up with it. I, Yahweh, have created it.
How terrible for anyone who argues with their Maker—a clay pot among the other clay pots of the earth! Does the clay ask the one who shapes it, 'What are you making?' Or does your creation say, 'He has no hands?'
How terrible for someone to say to a father, ‘Why did you become a father?’ or to a mother, ‘Why did you give birth?’”
Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, your Maker, says: “You question me about the future, you give me orders about my children and the work of my hands!
I made the earth and created humans on it. With my own hands, I stretched out the heavens; I commanded all their stars.
I have raised him up to do what is right, and I will make all his paths straight. He will build my city and set my exiles free, not for a price or a reward,” says Yahweh of Armies.
Yahweh says: “The wealth of Egypt, the goods of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, those tall men, will come over to you and belong to you. They will follow you, coming in chains, and they will bow down to you. They will plead with you, saying, ‘Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.’
You are truly a God who hides himself, God of Israel, the Savior.”
All those who make idols will be put to shame and disgraced; they will all be confused together.
Israel will be saved by Yahweh with an everlasting salvation. You will never be ashamed or disgraced, forever and ever.
For Yahweh, who created the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, who established it and did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited, says: “I am Yahweh; there is no other.
I have not spoken in secret, in a dark corner of the earth. I did not tell the descendants of Jacob to seek me in vain. I, Yahweh, speak what is right; I declare what is true.
“Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, you who have escaped from the nations. Those who carry wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save have no understanding.
Declare and present your case. Yes, let them consult together. Who announced this from ancient times? Who declared it long ago? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no other God besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.”
“Look to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
I have sworn by myself; a truthful promise has gone out from my mouth that will not be taken back: Every knee will bow to me, every tongue will pledge allegiance.
People will say of me, ‘Righteousness and strength are found only in Yahweh.’ Men will come to him, and all who raged against him will be put to shame.
All the descendants of Israel will be declared righteous in Yahweh and will rejoice!
