Let brotherly love continue.
Don’t forget to welcome strangers, because by doing so, some people have unknowingly entertained angels.
Remember those who are in prison, as if you were in prison with them. Also remember those who are being mistreated, since you yourselves are also human and can suffer.
Marriage should be honored by everyone, and the marriage bed should be kept pure. God will judge those who are sexually immoral and adulterers.
Don’t love money; be content with what you have. For God has said, “I will never leave you, and I will never abandon you.”
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere humans do to me?”
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Think about the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Don’t be led astray by various new and strange teachings. It is good for your heart to be strengthened by God's grace, not by rules about food, which have not helped those who followed them.
We have an altar, but those who serve in the Jewish tabernacle are not allowed to eat from it.
The bodies of the animals whose blood the high priest brings into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering are burned outside the camp.
That is why Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to make the people holy through his own blood.
So let’s go out to him, outside the camp, sharing the disgrace he suffered.
For we do not have a lasting city here on earth; instead, we are looking for the city that is to come.
Therefore, through Jesus, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
But don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with others, because these are the kind of sacrifices that please God.
Obey your leaders and give in to their authority. They are watching over your souls, and they will have to give an account to God. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, because that would not be good for you.
Pray for us, because we are sure that we have a clear conscience and want to live honorably in everything we do.
I especially urge you to pray so that I may be returned to you sooner.
Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,
equip you with everything good so that you may do his will. May he work in us what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
But I encourage you, my brothers and sisters, to listen to this message of encouragement, because I have written it to you briefly.
You should know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
Greet all your leaders and all God's people. Those from Italy send you their greetings.
May God's grace be with all of you. Amen.
