Deuteronomy

Chapter 34

Moses' final words before the Promised Land.

Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho. Yahweh showed him all the land of Gilead, as far as Dan,

all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, as far as the Mediterranean Sea,

the Negev, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.

Yahweh said to him, “This is the land that I promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross over into it.”

So Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there in the land of Moab, as Yahweh had said.

Yahweh buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor, but no one knows where his tomb is even today.

Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eyesight was not poor, and he had not lost his strength.

The people of Israel mourned for Moses in the plains of Moab for 30 days, until the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were over.

Joshua, son of Nun, was full of the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had placed his hands on him. So the people of Israel listened to him and did what Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Since then, no prophet like Moses has appeared in Israel, whom Yahweh knew face to face.

including all the miraculous signs and wonders that Yahweh sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his officials, and his entire country.

and all the powerful deeds and amazing acts that Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
