Daniel

Chapter 12

Faith in a foreign land.

“At that time Michael will rise up, the great prince who protects your people. There will be a time of trouble unlike any that has happened since nations began until that time. But at that time your people will be saved—everyone whose name is found written in the book.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up: some to everlasting life, and others to shame and everlasting disgrace.

Those who are wise will shine like the bright sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

But you, Daniel, keep these words secret and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”

Then I, Daniel, looked, and saw two other individuals standing, one on each side of the river bank.

One of them asked the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until these amazing events are over?”

I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, raise his right hand and his left hand to heaven and swear by the one who lives forever that it would be for a set period, two set periods, and half a set period. He said that when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things will be finished.

I heard, but I didn’t understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”

He said, “Go your way, Daniel, because these words are to be kept secret and sealed until the time of the end.

Many will purify and refine themselves, becoming pure. But the wicked will continue to do wicked things, and none of the wicked will understand. Only those who are wise will understand.

From the time the daily sacrifice is stopped and the 'abomination that causes desolation' is set up, there will be 1,290 days.

Blessed is the one who waits and reaches 1,335 days.

But as for you, Daniel, go your way until the end. You will rest, and then you will stand to receive your inheritance at the end of the days.”
