Corinthians

Chapter 16

Living as the church together.

Now, concerning the collection of money for God’s people: you should do as I instructed the churches in Galatia.

On the first day of every week, each of you should set aside and save whatever extra money you have, so that no collections need to be made when I arrive.

When I get there, I will send whomever you approve with letters to take your generous gift to Jerusalem.

If it seems right for me to go as well, they will travel with me.

I will come to you after I have traveled through Macedonia, because I am currently traveling through Macedonia.

I might stay with you for a while, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my way wherever I go.

I don’t want to just visit you briefly now, but I hope to stay with you for some time, if the Lord allows.

But I will stay in Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost,

because a great opportunity to do effective work has opened up for me, even though there are many who oppose me.

If Timothy comes, make sure he is comfortable and not afraid among you, because he is doing the Lord's work, just as I am.

So don't let anyone treat him with disrespect. Help him travel on his way in peace so he can come to me, for I am expecting him along with the other brothers.

Regarding our brother Apollos, I strongly encouraged him to come to you with the other brothers. But he really did not want to come at this time. He will come when he has a good opportunity.

Be alert! Stand firm in your faith! Be brave! Be strong!

Let love be the motivation for everything you do.

Now I ask you, brothers and sisters (you know that the household of Stephanas was the first family to come to faith in Achaia, and they have dedicated themselves to serving God's people),

that you also submit to the leadership of such people and to everyone who helps with the work and labors hard.

I was very happy when Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus arrived, because they have made up for your absence.

They have refreshed my spirit and yours. So, recognize and appreciate people like them.

The churches in the province of Asia send you their greetings. Aquila and Priscilla send you their warm greetings in the Lord, along with the church that meets in their house.

All the brothers and sisters send you their greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand.

If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let them be cursed. Our Lord, come!

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
