2Kohath's sons were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
3Amram's children were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. Aaron's sons were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
4Eleazar was the father of Phinehas, and Phinehas was the father of Abishua.
5Abishua was the father of Bukki. Bukki was the father of Uzzi.
6Uzzi was the father of Zerahiah. Zerahiah was the father of Meraioth.
7Meraioth was the father of Amariah. Amariah was the father of Ahitub.
8Ahitub was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Ahimaaz.
9Ahimaaz was the father of Azariah. Azariah was the father of Johanan.
10Johanan was the father of Azariah, who served as a priest in the temple Solomon built in Jerusalem.
11Azariah was the father of Amariah. Amariah was the father of Ahitub.
12Ahitub was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Shallum.
13Shallum was the father of Hilkiah. Hilkiah was the father of Azariah.
14Azariah was the father of Seraiah. Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak.
15Jehozadak was taken captive when Yahweh sent Judah and Jerusalem away by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16The sons of Levi were Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
17These are the names of Gershom's sons: Libni and Shimei.
18Kohath's sons were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
19Merari's sons were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites, listed by their fathers' households.
20From Gershom: his son Libni, his son Jahath, his son Zimmah,
21his son Joah, his son Iddo, his son Zerah, and his son Jeatherai.
22Kohath's sons: his son Amminadab, his son Korah, his son Assir,
23his son Elkanah, and his son Ebiasaph, his son Assir,

25Elkanah's sons: Amasai and Ahimoth.
26As for Elkanah, his sons were his son Zophai, his son Nahath,

32They served with music in front of the tent of meeting until Solomon built Yahweh’s house in Jerusalem. They performed their duties in the correct order.

35son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai,

39His brother Asaph, who stood on his right, was Asaph son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,
40son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malchijah,

44On their left were their relatives, the sons of Merari: Ethan son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch,

48Their relatives the Levites were assigned to all the other duties for the worship tent of God’s house.
49Aaron and his sons made offerings on the altar for burnt offerings and on the altar for incense. They did all the work for the holiest place and made atonement for Israel, just as Moses, the servant of God, had commanded.

54These are their living places, according to their camps within their territories: to the sons of Aaron from the Kohathite families (because they received the first lot),
55they were given Hebron and its surrounding areas in the land of Judah;
56but the fields of the city and its villages were given to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.
57To the sons of Aaron, they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron; Libnah with its surrounding areas, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its surrounding areas,
58Hilen and its pasturelands; Debir and its pasturelands;
59Ashan and its pasturelands; and Beth Shemesh and its pasturelands.
60From the tribe of Benjamin, they received Geba and its pasturelands; Allemeth and its pasturelands; and Anathoth and its pasturelands. All together, the cities for their families totaled thirteen.
61The remaining Kohathite sons received ten cities by lot from the tribal families, from the half-tribe of Manasseh.
62The sons of Gershom, according to their families, received thirteen cities from the tribe of Issachar, the tribe of Asher, the tribe of Naphtali, and the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
63The sons of Merari received twelve cities by lot, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad, and the tribe of Zebulun.
64The Israelites gave the Levites cities with their surrounding pasturelands.
65They gave these named cities by lot from the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Simeon, and the tribe of Benjamin.
66Some of the families of the Kohathite sons received cities within their borders from the tribe of Ephraim.
67They gave them the cities of refuge: Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its pasturelands; Gezer also with its pasturelands;
68Jokmeam with its pasturelands; Beth Horon with its pasturelands;
69Aijalon and its surrounding lands, Gath Rimmon and its surrounding lands;
70and from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner and its surrounding lands, and Bileam and its surrounding lands, for the rest of the Kohath family.
71To the Gershom family were given, from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan and its surrounding lands, and Ashtaroth and its surrounding lands;
72and from the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh and its surrounding lands, Daberath and its surrounding lands,
73Ramoth and its surrounding lands, and Anem and its surrounding lands;
74From the tribe of Asher, they received Mashal with its surrounding pasturelands, and Abdon with its surrounding pasturelands.
75Hukok with its surrounding pasturelands, and Rehob with its surrounding pasturelands.
76From the tribe of Naphtali, they received Kedesh in Galilee with its surrounding pasturelands, Hammon with its surrounding pasturelands, and Kiriathaim with its surrounding pasturelands.
77To the rest of the Levites, the descendants of Merari, were given cities from the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono with its surrounding pasturelands, and Tabor with its surrounding pasturelands.
78Also, beyond the Jordan, east of Jericho, they were given cities from the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the desert with its surrounding pasturelands, and Jahzah with its surrounding pasturelands.
79Kedemoth with its surrounding pasturelands, and Mephaath with its surrounding pasturelands.
80And from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its surrounding pasturelands, Mahanaim with its surrounding pasturelands.
81Heshbon with its surrounding pasturelands, and Jazer with its surrounding pasturelands.
